Tonsil stones

I have had a problem with tonsil stones for several years, but it has gotten much worse.  I gargle with peroxide every morning and will use a straw (gag) to reach in and pluck them out when possible, but new ones show up in a day or so. Not only do they feel awful on the tonsil but they smell AWFUL which is very embarrassing.  Can anyone help.  Am I doing something to cause these to form, is there something I can do to keep them from forming, do I need to see a ENT?  I really have no idea, can anyone help...please..

What a coincidence. I have had tonsil stones and they are very annoying but I could never get them out by myself. Eventually one of them calcified and turned hard as a rock. Also, they caused a me severe tonsillitis in my tonsil crypts - which was giving me a major sore throat and causing bleeding. Even after two courses of antibiotics they couldn't get rid of the deep tonsillar infection. The calcified one had all my docs concerned I had tonsil cancer - including me!

Finally yesterday I had my tonsils out. I'm looking forward to this problem being gone - as it will be now that my tonsils are out.
