Trouble hearing and breathing through nose

by craig321, Nov 02, 2009 07:22PM
Hi I am 16 years old. For the past 2 years i've been having troubles hearing. My ears feel like theres pressure inside, they crackle and they are always red. i got them flushed so its not wax. My neck has also been feeling really stiff for the past year. For some reason i am tired all the time. I used to be extremely smart at school but for the past 2 years ive been barely passing my grades. I think that theres something wrong with my brain because i have troubles completing the simplest tasks in school . i dont know if maybe my stiff neck, headaches all the time, sore back, hearing troubles, tiredness all the time, and my vision has also been changing alot the past couple years, are all conected together but i want to know if there is something seriously wrong with me. I also have troubles breathing through my nose. I went to go see my doctor a couple times but he hasent really done much all he did was give me some nasal spray which didnt do anything. I noticed that everything is just getting worse and he only scheduled me with an ear, nose and throat specialist in another month, i dont really feel like waiting but i have to. Do you have any advice on what I should do until then or if i should even wait?

Craig, judging by how long you have been experiencing these symptoms, it is probably OK to be able to wait a few more weeks.  The ENT specialist may very well be able to help you with your nose and ear troubles, but I would doubt that all of those other issues are related.  What does your primary care doctor make of all of those other symptoms/issues?  Those all sound like rather complex problems -- the solutions may turn out to be complex as well.
