Tympanoplasty and Eustachian Tube dysfunction

I am trying to find the cause of my son's hearing loss.  Apparently it is up to 30% permanent conductive hearing loss due to fluid build up and middle ear infections.  He is 5 years old.  How would I know if the problem steps from Eustachian Tube dysfunction?

What are the success rates and risk for Tympanoplasty?

There is a term used to discribe your child. The term is "otitis media prone" so you may want to google that term and start researching deeper into your child's condition.
