Virus?

Hey Iv'e had a mild sore throat for about two weeks now, accompanied by sometimes feeling feverish and tired and in general just unwell. I researched causes of sore throats like this and the general advice is to go to the doctor if it persists more than 4-5 days. But its been now about two weeks. And it's not any better, though not a lot worse either. My throat appears quite red and I'm not sure if I have a mild temperature or not. Should I go to the doctor...or is this just a persistent virus? Help!

I would go an ask in a chemist & ask if they think you should see a doctor or maybe they can give you something over the counter. Hope you feel better soon :)

Hi,

If you feel that your sore throat still persists better to start on antibiotics as well do some povidone iodine gargles. Also, you can start on mild pain killers, drink plenty of warm water and stop smoking. Even after this if the pain does not subside please do consult your ENT specialist for a thorough check up.
