What did you say?

Ever since I had mononucleosis about 14 years ago, I have had issues with my hearing.  Later on I was told it was my eustacion tube.  They put me on different combos of sinus/allergy drugs and I finally just gave up.
Well, last month I was landing from a flight and my ears started hurting really bad, and after we landed, my ears would not pop.  After a few days I went to the doctor, and she said it was fluid buildup(not wax).  We couldn't drain them because it could rupture my eardrum.  That's when she started me on this Nasonex and Mucinex that I'm on now.  There's been a little bit of change but definitely not resolved like she said it would be after 1 week.
I'm just so tired of going to doctors and spending money and things arent changing.  I just want to be normal again.  It's so frustrating to have to ask people to repeat themselves too.
Any suggestions as to another "medicine route" to take?
