When Will I Feel Better?

I have had sinus infection for over 12 weeks.  I'm currently on my 4th round of antibiotics and now steriods.

The CT results say that my sinuses are blocked and I have a cyst.  I am still feeling enormous pressure (after 6 days of antibiotics) - seriously affecting my day to day life.  Does anyone have experience with this and when should I anticipate feeling better?  I just spoke with the doctor yesterday and he switched my antibiotics.

Do people with chronic conditions like this typically go to work and function properly?

Thanks for your help!

I had a sinus infection for a long time(bacterial), then after 2nd surgery started to feel so bad, and doctor kept on taking bacterial cultures, and refused to even consider fungal infection.  Finally after 6 ENT's and a lot of extra months of suffering, I found an excellent ENT who immediately saw mold infection throughtout sinuses.  Started finally feeling 100% better when he prescribed antifungal oral and antifungal irrigation, but now my adenoids are apparently too far gone, and making me feel really bad again(probably have to be removed).  However, as bad as I feel, I feel BLESSED that I found a truly competent and compassionate ENT physician.  I know that feeling exactly , feeling severly ill, lethargic, in pain, and like you are unable to do anything.  I kept on asking, "is this possible", how can people function like this"?  I don't think they do.  People who are feeling severly ill like this from sinus infection, have a high level of infection, which many times is not recognized by the very physicians who are supposed to be treating it.  If you want you(or anyone else who has sinus/ear infections) are welcome to email me at ***@****  I think that we have to support each other and exchange information, this is so debilitating and devastating.  I have lost my job, and I have to get better to a certain degree in 8 months, because my COBRA healthcare runs out.

The doctor felt certain that the steroids would make the cyst go away.  A fungal infection was not discussed.  What is that?

Thanks for your suggestion!

What is expected to happen of the cyst? Did your Dr. rule out fungal infection?

I have heard good reports on Oil of Oregano for sinusitis (amongst other things)but haven't tried it myself.
