White Patch in Nostril

I have about a pencil eraser-size white patch in my nostril.  It is flat, nontender.  I went to an urgent care clinic to have this checked and the doctor was at a loss.  Her recommendation was Vaseline to the area for 2-3 weeks and if not resolved, then to see my primary.  Well, it hasn't gone away and it's starting to scare me.  I will be making an appt. with my primary in the next week, but was just wondering if anyone else has ever had something similar.  I have no sinus symptoms except for "chronic" frontal sinus pressure.  No postnasal drip, no cough, no sore throat, no white patches in my mouth.  My worst fear is some type of cancer.  Has anybody experienced something of a similar nature?

I have a similar spot  in my right nostril. I already saw my ENT. He doesn't know what it is. He prescribed an ointment (Mupirocin 2%) to be applied twice daily. I began using on 4/6/20. He suggested trying it for two weeks to see if it made a difference. It hasn't yet. He also stated he may have to do a biopsy to determine what it is. Because of the pandemic,  I have to wait to make another appointment. Good luck with yours.

Hey I have the same, it’s about the size of a lead pencil tip and been there for 6 years. I’ve had 4 doctors take a look and each one said it was nothing, one said it was a tiny flat polyp and nothing to worry about.  I still worry all the time hence still googling 6 years later.. I jus don’t like it being there.  Please let me know if you find out what yours is!
Had the biopsy on and removal on May 14. The lab said they needed a more clinical explanation when the nurse spoke to them on May 21. The cream did not help at all prior to biopsy. I am using it again after biopsy. Hope to hear something this week.
My doctor had referred to the spot as a nasal ulcer. The biopsy results were benign and the growth was irritation based. I see the ENT again tomorrow for a follow up. There is something in the posterior area of the same nostril on the same side as the other growth was.
The area in the posterior of my right nostril seems to be the remainder of my septum. It was removed previously to repair two csf leaks. The ENT doesn't feel it is anything to be concerned about. I am to continue using the cream for another 3-4 weeks. The biopsied area is still healing. The pathology report states : Acanthosis with thin layer of Parakeratosis. No evidence of Atypia/Malignancy.

In my opinion, you should skip primary care (if your insurance plan will allow) and see an ENT specialist.  It may need to be biopsied and your primary care doctor is unlikely to want to do that.
