ache in the throat

My wife has discoid lupus. She also has an unspecified autoammune disorder, specific to her. The last several weeks she has had a pain in her throat, neck, upper chest. She has had many tests, scopes, the doctors have found an active ulcer in her stomache and irritation in the throat. She is scheduled to see a doctor in December. Certain foods do trigger it and makes it hard for her to swallow. The doctors cannot give a diagnosis, they are stumped. She says that the pain is not a typical sore throat feeling. Any ideas to what it could be? And is related to Lupus?
