Thanks for replying. I have never eaten a pine nut, so think your advice about seeing a doctor is good. i have an appointment for Monday. Thanks. day425
Okay, last post on this. I was kinda curious about this, because I love pinons, and if you Google "bitter taste in mouth cause" you'll come up with scores of possible causes.
I forgot to mention that only a few people who have eaten pine nuts get the problem. Reports indicate that several people can eat nuts from the same batch, and only one may get the problem, so it is a medical mystery, NOT something wrong with the pine nuts themselves.
One cause (not the only one) is eating pine nuts. Not the pinons from New Mexico, but pine nuts from China. They are featured in some salads and pesto.
If you don't eat pine nuts, I'd go see a doctor.
I thought the bitter taste in my mouth was because of a new medication for my eyes which sometimes has that side effect. After changing medications I still have the awful taste and have no idea why. Help!
