bloody/yellow discharge from sinus, antibiotics help some but gets worse after.

I started with bleeding nose, approximately 5 nosebleeds over 7 day period, then had white spots appear on throat and was treated with Nystatin.  Shortly after started with tingling on tip of nose which spread over the whole nose, with numbness and a very cold nose then spread around eye and forehead with dizziness and stomach upset.  I was treated with antibiotics for 14 days for sinus infection.  Symtoms subsided some and then I started getting worse again and was given a stonger antibiotic for 7 days.  After that seemed to be a little better and then ended up with a lot of pressure in the head with numbness and pressure down left side of face and across bridge of nose, along with dizziness and feeling extremely ill, went to hospital and was put on 3rd lot of antibiotics, stronger still, after 2 days had large amounts of yellow discharge and major swelling of back of nose.  CT scan on 3rd day of antibiotics showed no sinus problems, but showed hypertropy of left nasal turbinate and a chonca bullosa in left tube.  Since finishing this round of Antibiotics, pressure getting worse in head, problems concentrating or remembering some things, blurred vision, yellow discharge and blood starting to come out of nose again.  Also since this started I have had tingling and numbing feelings all over my face, loud ringing and pain in both ears, white patches appearing on my face and nose, and one white patch on my nose is now indented.  I am unable to do much, because pressure/dizziness getting worse.  Can someone please help, I had breast cancer 5 years ago and am scared.

When you go to the ENT , prepare points on a sheet of paper.  Starting with,  1. when it all started, what month/year  2. who you went to see for the problem, and when , and what was found, ordered etc.  Also , list what wasnt done, like, if no culture was taken, what antibiotic you were given, and for how long, and then what antibiotic.  Write the points down in order of rough dates, otherwise you may not have a chance to get all the facts out. Make the points very short, not sentences.   Also, if you are feeling very ill, tell the doctor that, if you are having chills, weakness, nausea, etc , amke sure to tell him.

thanks for the info daggybee.  I have been taking probiotic, that I purchased from Walmart, but I have been so sick that I went to a Natural Health and Wellness clinic and was told that if they were purchased from a shelf they are no good.  I was also given a list of things to build up my immune system, and I purchased all of them and more.  I started on Vita-Green supplements, vitamins, Omega 3-6-9 oils, extra vitamin B and C, to try and boost my immune system, plus probiotic from the refrigerator at the health store.  I am not getting much help from my many trips to hospital or doctor.  Appointment coming up on Monday, hope the ENT specialist can tell me exactly what is going on and how to fix it, although I am not hopefull.  I guess I just need my faith restored in our health care system!!

If you have yellow discharge , it doesnt matter what ct says, you may not have had any on date that you have CT scan, but you do now.  I would personally go to an ENT that knows how to properly recognize infection when he looks through the sinus endoscope.  I trusted my ENT for 10 months and got very ill because he is incompetent.  I have a fungal infection rampant in my sinuses for 2 months now and last week he said it looked "pristine", in my sinuses.  Now  that I have found a great ENT , I realize the extreme substandard care that I have  receiving, including a first sinus which was completely unnecessary becasue there was no sinus blockage and just a small area of pus.  If you are sick and feel that you have a sinus infection, and your ENT says they don't see anything, I would seek a second third and fourth opinion, until someone does see something, or at least believes you.  Also state health department websites let you look up your doctor's information, such as, where they went to school and did their internships and residency,  how long they have been in practice, whether they are innvolved in any current lawsuits. If you are on antibiotics, I recommend taking probiotics, or eating a lot of yogurt containing acidophilus, or Lifeway Kefir, (but not the yoghurts that contain whey)
