can you help !!!

My son had a thyorglossal duct cyst removed from under his tongue back in 2007 the way it was removed was he was cut under the tongue and the cyst was taken out.
I have read so much about thyorgossal duct cysts was this the correct way to remove the cyst
Or should have they removed it with procedure called sistrunk
My son has had problem's breathing right from the very start when he was born he wakes up every night some times three to four time a night like he is choking his has large Adenoids (adenoids) and tonsillitis which are being removed in october this year but could the breathing have something to do with thyorgossal duct cyst that was removed
