i have von willebrand disease which is where i can't stop myselve from bleeding.  Well i caught some type of flu bug.  i had a 103.8 temp, a stuffy nose, a huge migrain, and i was freezing.  but i had a sweatshirt, t-shirt, underarmer, and jeans on. i slept from 3:30-10:00 the next day.  i missed school with a lower temp but my throat still hurt and i have had eight nosebleeds in three days.  that isn't normal even with my vwd.  I don't know what's wrong but it feels like there is something stuck in my throat.  I don't feel like passing out today, which is the fourth day.  I don't have a temp anymore, just a running nose, coughing up mucus and blood from the nosebleeds.  I also get sharp pains in my throat after swollowing.

With Von Willebrand desease the symptoms are very specific. Its simply means you either do not have enough of the factor or your body lacks the ability to produce it, depending on the type.
My Child has VWD and we deal with these symptoms on a daily basis. On average she has around 10 Bloody Noses a week, and more if she has done anything to upset her nose. also has freaquent sore throats and problems with her tonsils.
Also feeling like passing out is due to the enmia from loosing too much blood, or not having enough Iron.
I wouldnt be too concered with your current symptoms. Check with your doctor about it though to be sure. Another thought to consider. They have medications that you can take to help prevent and slow the nose bleeds, a nasil spray,(not sure of its name though) and another medication we give her is called Amicar, which just helps her blood to clot within about 20-30 mins. Therefore reducing the time she bleeds to about 45 min instead of 2-3 hours.
