cookie bite loss

My 9 yr old daughter was diagnosed with a cookie bite type of hearing loss in her left ear - the loss seems to be in mid range her low and high ranges are fine - we just had a ct scan and the results came back normal. This was very sudden loss she woke up one day and could not hear. Took her to the pediatrician and he said her ear looks like a healthy ear, can anyone help me, or guide me.

Hi,

You need to take the child immediately to an ENT surgeon. It must be idiopathic "Sudden sensory neural hearing loss" even though it is self limiting (that resolves by itself), I still advice you to take the child to the ENT specialist at the earliest. She requires short course of Steroids and Peripheral vasodilators.
