did i damage my vocal chords

hello, im having a little trouble yelling or singing loudly. before, i used to yell and sing loudly for as long as i could without any problems, but now when i try to do that it feels like my throat gets fatigued or i have a bit of disconfort. speaking in a normal volume i have no problem with. All this began when i tried to lift a really heavy object and as i heaved i flexed my neck muscles with too much force. thats when i felt the change. its been a year now and im wondering if i may have damaged my vocal chords or something? i guess you can say my vocal chords feel 'weaker' from this. i dont know for sure if its my vocal chords and i havent gone to the doctor becus i dont have insurance and its not something that causes me pain or disconfort doing everyday talking, but i wish my voice was like before when it could be loud without disconfort. i hope anyone has some idea of what it could be. thank you for your help:)

I forgot to mention, that the reason for this is that sometimes, when you injure a muscle, it develops "muscle memory" and stays at that level of contraction until you relieve it with massage.

google "NPR dysphonia" and you will hear a story similar to yours, relieved by massage.
