I am going on my 2nd week. And I still have a cough,. and my nose is stuffy and running. The lymph node is still there on the side of the neck.  Doesnt look like the cough syrup and pills dr gave me are doing anything.

symptoms I have had in past couple of weeks

minor sore throat for a day or so
phlegm feeling stuck in my throat from time to time
coughing
running nose
feel one lymph node on side of neck.
sometimes i feel some kind of muscle aches here are there, like my neck, armpits, legs

but i dont have any fever, chills or night sweats. And I dont think that I feel fatigue

I really hope it's nothing and  just a cold and anxiety. I have a lot of anxiety and depression from time to time. thanks

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Don't worry about the lymph node. Lymph are protective mechanisms of the body and they 'trap' the infecting source causing enlargement of lymph nodes. The infection can be from the throat. As the infection subsides, your cough and the lymph nodes should resolve.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

thanks for your help.

I went to the dr and he gave me cough syrup to take and some kind of pills. I also have alot of phlem stuck in my throat, so maybe it could be post nasal drip as well? I noticed what feels like one lymph node on the right side of my neck. Should I be worried about this being anything serious? my feelings in my throat are now gone after about a week, but i do have a little cough here and there?

your thoughts please? thanks

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Your symptoms could be due to a recurrence of throat infection. It could also be due to tonsillar enlargement. It could also be a fungal throat infection. The sore throat which you had may have contributed to it. In response to the infection the body produces soft white debris which collects in the tiny indentations in the tonsils called crypts. If your symptoms worsen consult your doctor for an evaluation. In the meantime take plenty of warm oral fluids and lots of rest. For further relief from your symptoms you could do warm salt water gargles and steam inhalations. Please ensure to do this prior to your meals.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
