how fast does oral cancer spead

My dentist noticed a white patch on the side of my tongue. He wants this checked out by an oral surgeon. I go to the dentist every 6 mo, He just noticed this. I can't get an appointment for 4 weeks. Worried if this Oral cancer. How much this could spread in 4 weeks.

Many things, such as cancer and thrush spread quite quickly.
Thrush would spread faster than cancer would.
You could try going to a walk in clinic and see what they have to say.
IF it's either one of those things, the faster the prognosis the better.

Did you bite your tongue recently? Has it been rubbing against a tooth in that area lately? Those are possibilities as well.
Any food allergies?
Did you notice it before the dentist? If so, has it been there for over a month?
With oral cancer, it's best to see a doctor if the sore has been there for over a month.
