I was diagnosed w/ labyrinthitis 10 1/2 weeks ago. It started with dizziness/tinnitus and hearing loss in my right ear. I saw a neurotologist who injected a liquid steroid in my ear (by the way I was 28 weeks pregnant at the time). The dizziness turned to vertigo and I was in bed for about 4 days. They injected more steroid into my ear a week later w/ no results and then started me on oral prednisone which gave no results. Since then my hearing has not returned and ringing is still there. Dizziness is much better but still there somewhat. They don't think it's related to pregnancy but I'm not so sure. I have a c-section scheduled for 8/14/08 and am praying that my hearing comes back. Something similar happened 8 years ago and lasted about 2 weeks and I lost half of my hearing in my left ear. Does anyone have any answers for me?? I've tried everything...chiropractic,acupuncture & even saw a naturopath for some homeopathic rememdies and diet changes...nothing has worked thus far. I have a hearing aid in my left ear but still not hearing very well. Please help I'm desperate.
