loss of voice after taking benadryl and cough

I wonder why every time I consume Benadryl cough syrup to control my cough and next day I lost my voice. Difficulty in speaking.

I am 28 years old male. I am married. I was suffering from cough yesterday. I tried Benadryl like last time. Cough is improving. But again my voice is lost and not normal.

I want to know why this happens every time either after Benadryl or consuming alcohol I almost lost my voice for 2-3 days.
