lump in throat that travels up

Lately I've been having either panic attacks or some weird thing happening to my throat.  I should mention it only happens after I smoke (big bong hits but please don't just tell me don't smoke weed i already understand that it would stop this from happening but i still would like to know what it is).

It starts right where your wishbone is, on what feels like the muscle.  First it just feels like a little lump, but then it tingles, then feels like a bubble and slowly moves up the side of my neck.  Then it makes half of either my tongue or face tingly, and after a while the bubble makes its way up into what feels like my brain and my whole head tingles.  I start panicking and feel like I'm dying so I've been brushing it off as panic attacks, but as it was happening to me last night I realized "I don't know for SURE that it's panic attacks...what if it IS something real?"  Because I was almost positive I could feel this travelling "bubble" when I put my fingers to my neck.

I should also note that I have very slight asthma.  I've never had an asthma attack or anything; I just might wheeze a little after smoking.

So has anyone ever heard of anything like this, or is it safe to assume it's panic attacks?  Thank you in advance.

oh and the lump usually stays in the wishbone area for a few minutes before it starts travelling, but during that time it changes from a slight lump to tingly to feeling like the muscle wall turns very hard & spreads and then into the "bubble" feeling at which point it starts to travel.
