mastoidectomy for a full contact athlete and recovery

I had this infection in my inner ear for so long unoticed.  Removal of the inner ear and mastiod bone was the only option, and treatment for bacterial meningitis through a picc line.  There have been a few years between now and the date of the surgury. What is the chance I may take in getting back into a cage to fight?  Is there a clear danger in being struck behind the ear where the mastiod bone has been removed?

You may consider have a small plate inserted for protection. You can wear headgear. If our balance is inhibited, that could pose a safety risk for you. Due to some holds and strikes used in MMA, there is definitely a chance you'll be struck or grabbed in that area. Work closely with your ENT on this.
