my lump in throat is there because of spine problems?

by maried2007, Mar 08, 2007 12:00AM
hi.
well. this is the third time I post here in less than a month. I have a lump in throat for more than a month now. At first, doctor told me it was allergies. I took drugs for it : did not work. Then, it was reflux. Took something for it and did not work (maybe I did not give it enough time though). I just saw the doctor the day before yesterday and he tolds me (after an examination of the neck) that this could be related to my spine : I have a minor vertebral problem and it could cause (with the nerves and all that) to make me feel like I have a lump in throat.

If somebody has the same problem or any information on that I would be really happy to hear it. It is just so weird to think that my throat problems could come from my spine.

Have you seen a chiropractor?

Hi, I had the same problem and what  I had was reversed acid reflux.  You may have to try a couple different meds so the acid is surpressed in your stomach, it should work. Belging also helps to get rid of the gas.

I also have back troubles, with a bulging disc, and I suffer from syatica.  My throat feels like someone has a tight grip on it, causing it to feel like its burning. I have a tough time swallowing, and when I went to the Drs. office he made a comment about the size of my uvula. Its hanging down in the back of my mouth, laying on my tongue.  Which is making me feel like i have something in there.  I can also stick my finger down my throat, and feel bumps, they feel huge when I'm swallowing, but I know by feeling with my finger that they are small, but sore!  I have no idea what mine is, but reading this blog, I see there are a lot of us out here. I've been trying to gargle with salt water. I started last night, I will let you know if it helps me or not in the next few days.
