nasal damage

nasal damage

Hello,

For only about two days I unconciously pushed on the side (dorsum) of my nose and what made me stop doing so was when I felt a crack in the spot i was pushing on and took a deep breath in through my nose and it stung, it felt like I had just inhaled water. My question is, will the tissue regenerate itself, or if I did break through the inner lining will I have to get it repaired?

and feedback is appreciated.

Well, all I can tell you is that if you push too hard on either side of your nose you WILL likely feel a "crack" which I believe is just a snapping sound of the cartiledge.  I've had that happen too.  I think it's highly unlikely you permanently damaged your own nose just by pushing on it.  Sounds like you did irritate it though.  But unless you've noticed other negative symptoms aside from you memory of that moment, and your breathing is fine, I'd say just leave it alone and even on the off chance something WAS bent or cracked a little out of what it would likely heal itself.

This has happened to me a few times recently while trying to get rid of blackheads on my nose.  I pressed too hard I think.

My nose felt a bit squishy and malleable for a few days and a bit sore for about a week, then went back to normal.  If anything you might have bruised the cartilage a bit.  I doubt it could cause anything that a weeks' healing couldn't fix though.

Anyone know more about this?

The thing is, 'Sinus Pressure' i was doing the same thing, but i felt a kind of 'give way' feeling in my nose. And now, I'm convinced my nose has changed. It looks as if the cartilage has completely collapsed and it's really getting me down. I don't know what to do. What is my fault? The thing is, I'm a twin, and i can really see the difference. This is what makes it even harder when people compare us. What can I do?
It's the the 'pillars' that hold my the bottom end of my nose have weakened, so to speak, and the end of my nose looks as if something has worn away. Any suggestions?
