painful tongue

I wonder if you can help me - two weeks ago I woke up with a pain in the centre of my tongue and a sore throat. Since then my tongue got incredibly sore and my mouth felt as if it was burning in different areas. I noticed I had an ulcer under my tongue and that the floor of the tongue was really red and swollen on one side. Afer lots of salt mouthwashes, the ulcer is beeter but it really hurts when I move my tongue to one side and my mouth is still burining internittently. I am a 59 year old female and getting increasingly anxious about this. It is really painful. Thank you for you help.

If its been going on now for a couple weeks, you should get it looked at to be sure its not cacer or something. Another possibility is vit. def.
