please help, Im going nuts

I have never been diagnosed with anxiety or stress but I know I struggle with both. My symptoms may be related to stress and anxiety and Im curious if anyone else has these symptoms.

My throat will feel swollen or tight on occasion, it almost feels like a lump just below my atoms apple. Almost as if I have a neck tie on to tight.Sometimes it's on the left side, sometimes the middle and sometimes on the right. It's usually on the left side. The problem used to just affect my throat but lately it also effects my ear and sinus. If the problem is on my left side, usually my left ear feels plugged almost as if im wearing an ear plug in just that ear. My left sinus also feels plugged. I feel like I need to blow my nose.

I can almost always notice this happen when Im stressed out.  If im in a large social gathering it tends to act up and it is almost difficult or just uncomfortable to speak . It tends to last for just a few days then Im good again for a week or 2. Usually when it happens my first thought is OH MY GOD, I HAVE THROAT CANCER and it only seams to get me into a panic attack and makes it worse.

heres an example of a typical day when Im in the middle of these symptoms.

I almost always wake up in the morning with no symptoms, 30 minutes to an hour or two into the day it flares up. If it's a weekend and I head off to do one of my many hobbies I enjoy, the symptoms tend to dissapear. If Im at work or just sitting around all I do is think about the symptoms, they just seam to lingre on throughout the day. If Im at a large social event, even with close family and friends, I tend to get worked up and the symptoms appear. If im reading online about other people with similar symptoms and it sounds like it's no big deal, just stress or anxiety related I become relaxed or relieved and I can sometimes feel the symptoms dissapear immediatly.

Do any of you have similar symptoms with similar triggers?  does this sound like it's a stress or anxiety related problem?  any ideas on how to deal with the stress/anxiety and symptoms?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You just answered all of your questions for yourself. I had many the wirdest, and the most unusual symptoms because of my anxiety. Now I feel my left side of the neck since I am concerned about small lymph node I had for few months. Get some help form professional doctor. Try CBT.

I feel for you, my symptoms are similar to yours, the sensation is low in the throat.  Quite possibly stress or anxiety.  I do find when I take my xanax, the sensation goes away, but that is the only relief I get.  So to me it becomes the lesser of two evils, becoming dependant on a benzo or living with this sensation everyday.  Hopefully we get some answers .... thanx for posting your story, it makes me feel better to know that I am not alone with this...take care!

Thanks for the reply's, just reading them makes the symptoms feel better.  hahaha.   I also get jaw pain/stiffness but I always thought it was related to my rheumatoid arthritis. It will stiffen up to the point where I can barely get the tip of my index finger in my mouth. Dont ask why I try to put my finger in my mouth. Haha

I just posted my story with questions.  Very similar to you.  My ears and nose are fine, its my throat/jaw/tongue that feel odd to me.  I feel like theres a lump at my adams apple too that seems to move around, but mostly on the right.  Hope its nothing for everyone....this weird sensation seems pretty normal on this board, and I havent seen anyone come back yet and say it was cancer.
