pulsating heart beat felt in left ear

i had an asd closure last year which caused artrial fibrillation, it took me quite a while to get over the operation. about three months ago a started getting quite a few skipped heart beats, my cardiologist said if i was worried to go and see my doctor and ask him to do an ecg anyway they stopped so i didnt bother but about 3 days later i started to hear and feel my heart beat in my left ear only and its in line with my heart beat also its sounds like a whooshing sound i mentioned it to my doctor but he said it could just b my sinuses and sent me on my way, i am worried because i am thinking what if i am heading for a stroke or something could anyone advise me thank you kindest regards carroll

It could be your carotid artery. I would ask your PCP to order a carotid doppler study just to make sure you don't have an occlusion. Are you on Coumadin or another blood thinner for your atrial fib? This generally would decrease your risk for a stroke.

It could also be something small like your sinuses or ear wax build up. But with your history, I would ask your doctor to do the doppler.
