residual disease, ct scan?

residual disease, ct scan?

Hi,
I had surgery around 6months ago, I had all my blood vessels removed in my nose (I had extremely bad nose and mouth bleeds), diseased tissue removed and a double deviated septum fixed.
I had this done because I had constant maxillary infections and tonsillitis ( they thought nasal dripage was causing the tonsilltis)
I still have the constant infections infact its got worse since the surgery, I was recently placed on 6 weeks of antibotics and because it hasn't cleared it up I'm being sent for a ct scan.
The dr wrote on the form "residual disease" as one of the reasons for the scan, iv googled it and all that's coming up is cancer or bad cells that reamin after surgery..seen as iv had surgery not to long ago I'm assuming its the latter however if this is the case, does any 1 know if they could be causing the infections and if anything can be done about them?
Thanks

Hello and hope you are doing well.

It could be a residual infection. Need to check if there is adequate drainage to the sinus, as sometimes adhesions can block this opening. This can cause building up of secretions and infection. Discuss these options with your consulting doctor.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
