ringing ear

hi i am 27 years male.
my left ear is ringing from last one and half year
i visit my doctor and he clean my ear and check my hearing.he said that there is nothing to worry just ignore ringing.
but after three month i have a light pain around my ear and neck muscales.
what should i do?,what it can be?

Add me to that list! Mine is strange. It only rings on my left side when I have my finger near it. The right ear is fine. The drone sound in my left ear is worries me. I had major brain surgery 30 years ago and my left ear was damaged in the accident. My current GP says it's fine and nothing looks off about it. Add me to your need to know list please.
