Most people feel an instant benifit with PET placement, but because you had your adnoids removed, this changes things.

But I would expect over time you will recieve benifit. The problem is, it will be gradual, because of this you will not have a "WOW" effect. Most adults that have PETs placed as an in office procedure undergo a wow effect because the results are instant, and the and local anesthesia is used.

Yes, the swelling due to surgery would theoretically cause the E. tube to remain closed.

I do agree with having the adenoids (adenoids) removed, as well as most recent literature out there.

Adenoids...  no, when I was growing up, the trend at that time was to leave them in...   it was a generational thing.

Yes I have had tubes...  but I was 6 years old at the time.

Benifit, well typically the conductive loss that is created due to the negative vacumm within the middle ear is reliquished.   You see, while the middle ear cavity is under negative pressure, the ear drum does not move properly, thus causeing a conductive hearing loss. Or if there is fluid in the middle ear, there is also a conductive loss (more severe)

Once the tube is placed, the conductive loss is resolved, thus causeing the "wow" I can hear again effect.

No sinus is not my scope....  but it is obvious that once you fix the sinus issues than the ear issues will clear up.

How to fix the sinus issues is beyond me. I would imagine getting tested for allergies would be advisable if you have not already. If you smoke stop.
