How long should you take off work if you have had a polyp removed from your throat?

Hi,

Even after a week of voice rest you are not supposed to speak loudly or shout. This is the time when the mucosa of the Vocal cords will be healing.

Thanks for your response. I'm a supervisor in a plant where we have loud machines and have to wear earplugs. Would a week be sufficient to take off work to allow my voice to come back.

Hi,

If there are no post operative complications, you can definitely attend to the work one or two days after the surgery. But should give complete voice test for one or two weeks depending upon the size of the polyp. This will be advised to you by your surgeon.
