swallowing or vocal chord problem

When I am eating and usually talking,  I get what feels like a crumb or piece of food on my vocal cord which causes me to begin coughing, which only makes matters worse.  The only thing that will stop it is, I have to stop talking and eating and sort of rest for a minute or two.  I have Barrets esophagas and also take Asmanex for asthma  I can't seem to recall if this began after changing medicines to asmanex
