swolen salivary glands

swolen salivary glands

ok, 3 days ago i noticed a slight lump/inflamaton on the eft side of my face (very minor) the next day I was very sick( I could not open my completely, I was nosiou if i stood/sat up to long or at to fast, I was dizzy/woozy had a head ache and a high fever, and fatigue) the swelling had at least doubled, yeasterday most of the symptoms diapeared( still  feverish) but the swelling had stade the same if not goten worse (I couldn't eat something thicker then my thumb, which is smallish), today the swelling is worse it has to be smaller then my thumb, like smaller then a half a bagle or most anything. yesterday (4:30ish) I went to the walk in clinic and I was told that i just had blocked salivary glands, but that I probably didn't have any stones since he couldn't feel them. he told me to get zinc lozenges to suck on and eat sour thing and come in if it doesn't go away.
does that (the diagnosis) sound right to you guys?
and how long should I wait to see if things get better?

also I had something veyr simular happen in october, I didn't get sick but the swelling was more wide spread and worse (it lasted a week/5days and I didn't go see a doctor)

edit:
also it does hurt to swallow and is very tender (and that solid swelling/part I mentioned is about an inch long)

and I don't know if I had the solid part in oct. I didn't notice it enough to remember if I did(n't) but it was swollen right first then increased fron the front to the left, then quickly went away,
and sorry for the spelling mistakes if I could I'd go back and edit it.
