swollen tonsils and large gashes in them

my tonsils have been swollen for a while now  i used to get tonsilitus alot and the dr would never take them out. although my tonsils are swollen im in no pain but they have large gashes in them, no bleeding, and what seems like puss, i am going to the dr tomorrow but i was just wondering what it could be, im scared it could be throat cancer. any advise would be greatful and out my mind to rest

You are wise to go to the dr.  It could be an infection, but is more than likely tonsiliths.  Those are gros and disgusting collections of food debris and are not  harmful.  

Another possibility would be strep if you have a history having that a lot.  You can eventually become "used to" the infection and not beaware that you have it.  Some doctors call that being a carrier.

I would seriously doubt that you have throat cancer unless you dip tobacco.

Don't worry, and keep that apt with your doctor tomorrow.

thank you so much just to update you my throat is now hurting its feels like i have something lodged in my throat and i still going to the dr

oh the cacner thing i dnt dip tobacco but my uncle never smoked or anything a day in his life and had throat cancer

apparently we all get them an di have no need to overeact, i think i might get a second oppinion though
