thick sweet putrid mucus
I had tonsil cancer in 2007.  I had radiation during and after treatments that everything tasted metallic or salty.  I had excessive mucus.  All of this subsided around the middle of 2008.  Then, about 6 months ago, I started waking up with a thick sweet putrid-tasting mucus in my throat that I would have to spit out, and then the mucus would, and does, stay there all day.  I have been to ENTs and gastro doctors to no avail.  I have some acid reflux which I take two Nexiums a day.  All doctors say this is radiation effects, although I haven't met any other oral cancer patients who have such a taste.  It stays in my mouth all the time and I have to force myself to eat because the sweetness makes me nauseous.  Also, the mucus burns my tongue and outside of mouth in the corners of my lips.  Has anyone ever experienced such.
Thank you.
