tonsils

i am about to have surgery to get my tonsils remove. ihave been suffering with what i think is called tonsil stones for about 15 yrs . Now my left one has gotten so big that it feels like it covering the back of my throat. There r little pocket hole in them, dont kno if it food particles being stored in them.But is very uncomfortable when i could feel them with my tongue.well am very afraid for getting the surgery done.Dont know what the complication are really and what to expect after.Am confuse dont kno if i should get it done.Was told its a very painful procedure.Need some advice please.Oh! by the way the surgery is on thursday morning.

Any surgery can be a scary thing. Unless you've had one before,you won't know how you'll react to the anesthetic.
Are you over 16? Unless your doctor says it's very important that you have them removed they won't do it. So it must be very serious that you have this done.
Adults have a problem with bleeding issues so they don't like to remove them after the age of 16.
My friend had her's out at 16...she was in the hospital for 2 weeks afterwards.
On the bright side she got to eat lots of icecream and jello. lol

well am way pass the age of sixteen,lol am more like 34.I was suppose to get them removed when i was much young but my mom never got it done, which i wish she did! lol but now am not liking the way it feels in my mouth.Although my doctor told me it was my chose if i wanted it removed or not.
