While there is no cure for sinusitis, some patients who have chronic sinusitis should be on a small maintenance dose of a topical steroid, for example Dexamethasone or Betamethasone about .15mg/ml 2x a day.

This can be taken in a nasal nebulizer or a nasal spray and is typically offered through specialized pharmacies.

Typically in most patients with sinusitis, they are suffering from inflammation and bacteria caused by fungi in the air.

I just started using dexamethasone for chronic headaches and sinus inflammation.  I take 1/2 of a 4 mg. pill per day.  Is this a lot?  Also, I feel sometimes short of breath, spacy and my vision is cloudy.   Not sure what the actual side affects are of this medicine...how long you should be on it...every day?  a little concerned  Carin
