vertigo and blood pressure

can benign positional vertigo cause spikes in blood pressure?  My husband has HBP and is on meds which normally keep it undercontrol.  Last week he was diagnosed with Benign positional vertigo and has been having spikes in his blood pressure.  They go along with the attacks of spinning, so they question is which comes first?  Is it commonly seen that vertigo will cause such spikes?

No, I have no history of high blood pressure.

I would recommend him having an MRI and/or an MRA done.

I have BPPV and I have had no spikes in blood pressure and never heard of blood pressure spikes being associated with BPPV.

Has he had an MRI or an MRA done of his head/brain?
