EAR, NOSE AND THROAT EXPERT FORUM
Anyone got any ideas?

Anyone got any ideas?

This has been going on for about four years.  I will give an outline of the symtoms (symptoms) that I have on a regular basis.

first my nose is always stuffy, sometimes very stuffy, sometimes less but never clear.  My chest feels raw all the time.  I feel like there is something at the back of my throat.  My tongue looks white.  I try to drink alot of water to vainly clear my throat but it doesn't go away.  My lips are quite sore.  I have earache in my left ear.  I have spit up blood but I think that may be because when trying to clear my throat, it causes it to bleed.

I have seen an ENT specialist who said I have a deviated septum, he sent me to have a CT scan but apparently everything was clear with my sinuses.

Now what?  I've spent alot of money on specialists, doctors, acupuncturists to no avail.

I've taken their antihistamines which don't work.

Is it this hard to get a diagnosis?

hi there! well ive had the exact same problem, yet i never did bleed. ive had this for 3 yrs, and have lost 27 lbs!!ive had every test done in the world and they still cant figure out what this is. yet now they think it might be GERD. u should check into that.  dont worry your not alone in this. a lot of ppl on the internet seem to have the same problem as us. GERD can cause asthma even!  it causes bile from ur stomach to regurgitate back into ur  throat and can give u respitory problems and a constant sore throat and the constant post nasal dripp, which causes us to clear our throat all the time. google GERD, and read into it. i really hope ive helped!=) God bless you!

Thanks for your reply.  I'll look into the GERD aspect.

God bless you, too, Rosewolf.
