It is possible to have regrowth of tonsillar tissue after a tonsillectomy.  However, it is likely the body is producing granulation tissue (or healing tissue) in the area of your surgery.  Rarely, infections or inflammatory reactions of the remaining tissues can develop after surgery.  Although feeling a sore throat after surgery is normal, it should resolve.  Persistent symptoms 3 months after surgery should be evaluated further.  You should definitely return to your surgeon and discuss your progress since surgery.  Best wishes.
