Trouble with smell can result from a number of different sources including viral infections, trauma, nasal polyps and nasosinal disease, tumors, and chemical exposure.  Sometimes, no cause can be found.  You should be evaluated by a physician.  A complete history and physical exam is necessary including an exam of your nasal cavity.  Smell testing as well as radiological imaging may also be helpful.  Good luck.
