Anorexic???

Anorexic???

Hi! I just turned 16 years old about a month ago and I currently weight 88 pounds and am 5ft 3in. I have a skinny build. I am starting to get worried about eating disorders, especially anorexia, because I am obsessed with calories and excercising. I bike at least 5 miles everyday, run everyday, and am constantly working my abs (core). I am scared that I will gain weight because I like being this small. I also haven't had my period for 8 months and am kind of freaked out. I don't like talking about eating disorders because I am scared of them and am worried that I will have to go to the doctor. I don't want to gain weight but do I have to?
Am I anorexic or just really skinny? (I can't be bulimic because I have never thrown up). Please tell me what is going on with me! I don't want to have an eating disorder!

Nobody wants to have an eating disorder, but some of us just do. Nobody can diagnose you on a message board, but yes, it does sound lie you have an eating disorder. Not just because of your low weight but because of your obsession. Not having a period for 8 months is also a symptom of an eating disorder.  It will only get worse with time, but recovery is possible. I have 16 years recovery from an eating disorder. Yes, going to the doctor and getting a referral to a therapist experienced with eating disorders is the way to go. You probably have lots of feelings underneath your fear of gaining weight that you need to process. You are scared of talking about an eating disorder, but it's a lot better than dieing from one, and yes, that could happen. It will get better, I promise, if you get help!
