Binge eat then being sick.

Binge eat then being sick.

I used to be 18 stone and lost weight with diet control and went down to 10st people said I was too thin for my frame I thought this was due to people seeing me normall a large guy.. I started the gym and after 6 month and went up to 11.5 and was happy with my weight. I then started lifting more and getting stronger in the gym I continued the gym for another year and half until now... I recently lost some weight in the gym and my diet was very strick to the results I wanted in the gym until recently. I really wanted a chococlate and it had been 2 years since I have had any form of chocolate/burger/fast food etc my diet consisted of turkey/veg/fish etc was very spot on. Last month I ate a bounty, I went out and spent 30 pound on every kind of chocolate bar you can think off and ate then lot then forced myself to be sick.. it was the end of that I thought but no a couple days later I did it again this time with 4 burgers, chips/fish and pie.. and then every other day and i keep doing it last night I had 15 pancakes with maple syrup, a box of ricicles, 2 pies and 2 large domino pizza's and then forced myself to be sick.. I dont know why I'm doing this but it seems I just want sweet/junk food at around 1800-2000 then I'll make myself sick this is not normally what I do but i've done it now over the last month quite alot and after I do it i feel guilty and weak.. I still go to the gym and some days my diet is spot on then the next day i'll want to binge o buy 20 pounds worth of crap and then be sick.. is it time to visit the docotor? How do i stop this my mother has found out and has become very worried but she just left and went on holiday and it's given me an opening to do it even more.

You've come to the right place because it sounds as though you have been developing an eating disorder over the last year and a half and, unfortunately, they tend to get worse, not better. You are caught in the cycle of binge and purge/vow to eat healthy for awhile/work out then do it again and feel guilty and disgusted with yourself.

You are absolutely right that you should see your doctor and get a referral to a therapist experienced with eating disorders. The good news is you are young and haven't been doing it that long which makes it easier to treat. I have 16 years recovery from my own eating disorder but waited until I was much older to do it. Get some help so you can go on to enjoy your life without this obsession! I'm not positive if they have OA where you live but it is a great support from people who've been through it. Just look it up under Overeater's Anonymous and see if there are meetings in your area. Then when your mom returns you can tell her you've taken steps to get help and she will be relieved!
