Child not eating

My son is 1 1/2 years old and he don't eat oftern.  it seems that some days its like he is starving himself.  He enjoys the liquids as in milk and even water.  He only weighs 20 lbs and I have been told that there maybe something wrong with him.  He eats when he wants and what he wants.  I give him pediasure but I am worried that he isn't getting enough.  I just don't knw what to do. can someone give me so advice.

hi my name is dan and i will share with you what i know about this subject.
if your son doesnt want to eat dont make this into a battle with him it will make him worse.
encourage him to sit at the table with the rest of you at meal times even if he doesnt eat.
dont make a big deal out of the fact he is not eating but praise him when he does.
make food fun for him.
make sure he knows why his body needs food and explain to him the importance of a healthy diet.
its good that he is drinking and keep going with milk and water.
and just be there for him make sure he knows that you are there if he needs to talk to you.
loads of cuddles and reasurance is the best way to encourage him.
