Do you thin i'm bulimic?

Ok, Im a pretty normal weight. I take care of my self, but there are those times when i get a bone or such stuck in my throat and force it out by vomiting. I've done this about ten times in the past six years. Do you think I caused a lot of damage my esophagus?

I would think it's more dangerous to vomit causing contractions than eating solid food to push it down. If you have a problem choking or the feeling of something stuck either chewing problems or such, it is just something you need to be more careful about when eating, smaller bites, ect.. I've gotten vitamins stuck where water would not push them down and gagged like I will vomit, I just hold my breath and take apple sauce to wash it down. After a while I started putting all pills in apple sauce and never had a problem.

Why you vomit is the question? In the back of your mind do you say, well somethings stuck and I ate more then I should have so you don't feel guilty about vomiting? Or just really feel this is how you clear your throat. Vomiting isn't healthy, but I wouldn't expect any damage with so much time to heal in between your events.

If your breathing? Eat something else to push it down. More likely you are scratching your esophagus with sharp or hard food and it "feels" stuck. Vomit acid burns the whole esophagus on the way up evening out the feeling of something stuck and you may think wow, it's cleared when actually you just burned the whole area evenly. When you scratch the esophagus lining it does feel like somethings stuck, eat some soft food like bread, and it will go away with in 20 minutes. If not see a doctor. I don't think vomiting is the answer.

I have never experienced a bone or such stuck in my throat and having to vomit to get it out...especially 10 times!! About once a year you throw up by force so I wouldn't say you are bulimic but I would quit trying to make yourself vomit!!
