Extremely Guilty after eating?

by Alligaterr95, Jun 18, 2009 01:42PM
So, this summer I've realy gotten onto myself about my wieght. And now that I'm completely focused on it because of there being no distractions from school, im getting more active but also, I'm becoming extremely guilty after eating. Even if its something small. I try to make myself throw up quite often but i haven't suceeded. I realize this probibly is'nt an eating disorder but,  i would like some help on how not to feel guilty before i go over board.

Well actually this may be the start of an eating disorder. That is how I was last year when my eating disorder started. Now my therapist believes I have EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified).

One of the main reasons you should NOT feel guilt about eating is because you need food to survive. Food keeps your body going.

do you know what may have prompted your problem? has anything stressful happened to you recently?

this sounds like an eating disorder waiting right around the corner to attack, don't let it go any farther and stop it right now before it can ruin you. It would be extremely beneficial to talk to a therapist of some sort if you're able to and maybe meet with a nutritionist too so they can explain to you exactly what your body needs and how you shouldn't feel guilty.
I highly recommend reading the book "french women don't get fat" (i know, it sounds like a contradiction in this context, but really its great) just skip entirely the chapter about the "magical leek soup". It talks a lot about really enjoying food but being healthy too which really helped me transition from my ED recovery to remission.

hope that helps! please don't ignore this for another minute- get some help!
