What should a person do if they still feel hungry after just eating?

If you still feel hungry but you have ate a solid meal (containing enough nutrients, protein, carbs, and fats to meet your bodies needs) and have not binged, purged, or starved recently than you can deal with not feeling full in a variety of ways. First of all, if you are trying to cease your eating disorder behaviors it may take some time before you body return to sending you normal cues of hunger and fullness since it is not used to normal eating patterns. If you still feel hungry you should stop before eating anything else and ask yourself if it is physical hunger or emotional hunger. If you can sense it is emotional hunger than try to take part in some other activity to avoid setting yourself up for binging. If it is physical hunger than assess a good decent snack option if you want (peanut butter and apple, yogurt and granola, crackers and cheese). Feeling hungry after eating is experienced by anyone I have talked to who is recovering from an eating disorder or has ever been fully engaged in eating disorder behavior. Once you become healthy and eating disorder behavior free you will feel satisfied after eating and hungry when you are supposed too :-)
