I'm 32, male, alcoholic, bulimic

I'm a 32 year old man. Have always drank, and always been a "little bit" bulimic, but not often till I started this job a year ago. I now work 70+ hours a week, and drink a lot because I have no social life, which was very important to me before. I drink at the local bar for my social life now. I find I drink every night at the bar, then go home and drink more till I "pass out". I don't sleep right if I didn't drink. What scares me now isn't the drinking, it's the not being able to eat. If I eat more than 2 bites of anything, I get sick. My mind says that I need to eat X amount of food. So I do. And then my stomach can't handle it. In the past, I never drank after eating cause I KNEW I'd get sick. Now, I can't even eat a half sandwich for breakfast without getting rid of it. Nothing I eat stays, cause my brain says get rid of it...even though it just said, "you need this". I know I'm not getting the right things I need everyday, cause nothing stays...how do I get myself to eat again???

I think you might already know the answer to your question, but just hope for a different one. You need to stop drinking. Eating disorders and other substance abuse often go together but just heavy drinking in itself can make it difficult to eat enough. You are absorbing a significant number of calories through your drinking and are too sick from that to eat any food. You need help. I strongly suggest you find an alcohol treatment program in your area and begin the process of getting into recovery. People make jokes about AA but it is also an invaluable resource to meet other alcoholics and work towards recovery. There are meetings everywhere at every time of day. The quality of the rest of your life (and even if you actually HAVE a rest of your life) depends on your getting into recovery.
