Is there any one that binges without purging?

I'm a 56 y/o female who has had a problem with binge eating since I was about 30. I can gain 20 lbs in a month no problem. Sometimes I can't stop eating, and when I'm too full to eat anymore, I can't wait to digest so I can eat more. I've been to psychiatrist's that specialize in eating disorders, OA, read every book I could find, went to counseling for years and years, and have been on every diet there is. I recently lost 60 lbs in a year, but the past 2 month I put back on 30 lbs. I can't stand it any longer !!! There seems to be so much help out there for bulimia and anorexia but not just binge eating. And please don't tell me all eating disorders are the same. I know I'm not the only one with this problem, but I don't know anyone that has it as bad as I do. Is there anyone that can offer me any help????

Your comments about yourself sound exactly like me. I used to binge and purge but now I just binge. I've put on a terribly dangerous amount of weight and I'm very concerned (SCARED) that this disorder may just be the death of me.  With all the help out there for other things there must be some help for people like us.  Every doctor I see tells me the same thing..."lose the weight", but how can a skinny doctor possibly understand how this feels and how impossible it seems?  Does he really think I want to be this way?  I'm miserable, and I'm at my wit's end!  Need help NOW!        Jillian

You are not alone. Personally, I do not binge without purging, but binge-eating disorder is actually the most common of all eating disorders. Are you still in therapy of any kind? What about OA? Do you still go? Are you able to identify why you binge? It's not about the food you know? There is something deeper going on. Have you thought about that much?
