My friend doesn't eat...

by i1own0u, Jun 13, 2009 10:47PM
One of my friends who is a girl just about stopped eating.  I talked to her today and asked her if she ate and she said she hadn't eaten for about 2 days.  I asked her to eat something and she took 3 bites of bread and said she was full...  Her mom often asks her to eat, but she says she's not hungry.  She also says that her stomach never growls and says that doesn't eat because she is not hungry.

How can I help her?  She is a very, very good, close, and special friend of mine.

hiyaa i know exactly what shes going through because im the same. (not as bad because trying to recover on my own without anyone knowing)

for me its been 3 years and im eating more now than what i used to eat but i still carnt feel hunger and probably never will.i also get full over little things aswell. before i had a cookie and it took me about 15 minutes to eat it and i felt really full and sick afterwards (my best mate made me eat it)

you should try and help her get help because i dont want her to be like i am now. if you like you could message me and i could help you and your mate :)

Number 2 is right (I'm not using your handle #2 because I think it's sad you would use that one!)

Please tell your friend to talk with her parents, a teacher or a counselor and get referred to a doctor or better yet a therapist experienced in eating disorders. She is hiding it because she is ashamed, but there is nothing to be ashamed about in having an illness that needs to be treated.
