Over eating, bored eating, etc.

For the past several years I have been gaining weight at a steady pace. Six years ago I leveled off at 230lbs with a height of 5'6". I have a heavy bone structure so if I was at my 'healthy' weight of 117-143, I'd look like a skeleton. Ideally I need to be at 160 or so. My current BMI is 36.3 and 94th percentile.

My problem is that I am almost constantly eating. I've tried to eat less, even trying Weight Watchers. I leveled out at 215lbs after two months with walking 4 miles a day, and three months later were still at 215 even while keeping on the diet and changing it as instructed. I quit the diet as it was not working for me and am now at 225lbs.

I now have Hypertension Stage 1 and can't walk up a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing. My doctor suggested I had 'Carbohydrate Addiction', where my body creates too much insulin after eating carbs or sweets and the lingering insulin tells my body to eat more. Problem is that my house does not have any low carb foods, and I am not the grocery buyer.

I am trying to convince the grocery purchaser to get things off my low carb list but because of money restrictions we can't get too many of my items, meaning I'm forced to eat the high carb foods in the house as well.

I need to try and figure out how to eat less, eat healthier, and not have a heart attack doing laundry.
