Paying for Inpatient - Desperate

How are people paying for inpatient treatment at an eating disorders center if they don't have money?  Does anyone have info on resources that would pay for this very specialized treatment?

Thanks for any info you can offer.

It depends on a few factors. I saw your other post in another forum.

1) What country and/or state/province does your friend/family live?
2) The age of the person

I know that there is some help in the US from social services, is the person in question is underag?. Private insurance may cover it, if you are in the US. It depends also on the severity. 160/day isn't bad, I've heard of costs being much more. Most insurance cover psychiatric hospital visits. ED folks 99% of the time have depression, if you deal with that, usually but not always reduces ED's.

It's hard to answer your question without any info here or on your profile. Have you spoken with your family doctor? Do you have a psychiatrist? any meds being taken?
Speaking with the primary doctor should answer many questions :)

I wish I could help further,

Well, i went to a treatment center, but my insurance company wouldn't cover inpatient. Most centers have a day or evening program. If you've never been in a treatment center before, and your not severly underwieght they'll probably only cover the day or evening program, and then they do an evaluation every 3-5 days based on your progress there. Like mine only cover 3 1/2 weeks, even though my case manger, told them i needed at least 6 weeks, but insurance co. i'm sorry to say don't care. My best advice  call your insurance company, and find out the treatment centers they cover. Then call the center, and find out if they can do your co-payment on some kind of payment plan. Most of them i'm pretty sure will.
Good luck
